The purpose of the Committee of Friends of Saint Theresa in Hôpital Saint Georges – Ajaltoun is to maintain the sustainability of this private nonprofit hospital that constituted from the beginning a necessity in the area.
The multiple tragedies that took place on our homeland, the corona pandemic, with rising problems of the exchange rate, all of these made it difficult to receive patients, since the hospital’s ability to ensure necessary medical devices and supplies, both critical and chronic treatments and maintenance of the equipment has been exceeded.
Lately, we lost over 27% of our staff, looking for better opportunities. We reduced our activities to 30% of our capacity, still more than 150 chronic patients (dialysis, chemotherapy...) are systematically cared for in the hospital and it’s our duty not to deceive them and their families, maintaining the best quality of services.
The hospital is struggling to survive the crisis and needs all available assistance.
