Hala is my lovely mom! She was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer since 2019. She bravely went through surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, SBRT and a through a lot while fighting her disease. Now , because our government has abandoned us and stopped providing her with the medicine that she needs, the cancer has now progressed again (new metastasis from breast to lungs). The only way to stop her cancer from progressing is a drug called Enhertu which is the only medicine indicated in her case but is extremely expensive, and usually it is the responsibility of governments and ministries of health to cover the treatment but Unfortunately, we live in a time when the government stopped caring if people die or not, and already stopped providing her with 3 other essential medicines, so we found ourselves helpless and hopeless, but we don’t want to give up. Instead of losing hope and God forbid losing Hala (I don't even like to think about it )... I decided to seek the help of the good people and spirits who have both the will and the ability to help others, people who find joy in giving. We are counting on good people who have a good spirit to save a wonderful mom who loves life and has already fought a long way... and it is unfair to give up because of money or shame. It’s our government who should be ashamed of letting cancer patients down. My mom needs an emergency surgery that can potentially save her life! She has cancer and waiting to be admitted for surgery in Lebanon. Any amount is helpful and can contribute greatly to this cause! In 2021, Silva was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer whereby she underwent surgery and her uterus was removed. Then she underwent radiotherapy. Unfortunately, in 2022 when she was getting her regular post cancer checkup, this deadly disease had returned. She is now diagnosed by having Metastic Carcinoma consistent with Endometrial origin. And doctors also discovered during the PET scan that she has breast cancer as well. The following diagnosis is very rare whereby the chance of occurance is 1 in a million. The Metastic tumor is located on her belly and chemotherapy did not help in reducing its size. On the contrary, the tumor got bigger and is now starting to be embedded on her intestine. This why an urgent surgery is needed to save her life! My mom, Silva, is a loving mother, wife and an overall joyful human being who has always been there for everyone. Mona Hayek Freiha, a 67 years old woman, my grandmother, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer while having an Endoscopy (a procedure used to look inside the body)at LAU Medical Center Rizk. The patient is required to receive 6 cycles of chemotherapy as a first step. The ministry of Health in Lebanon as you all know isn’t financing cancer treatments and medications anymore so the family will be taking account of the treatment which is severely hard due to the current situation. Her husband is ill, bound into a oxygen machine in bed all the time which leaves the family with very limited resources, unable to cover the cost of the treatment. The goal is to reach 40,000 $ to be able to pay for the 6 cycles of chemotherapy, the previous operation done, and the upcoming cancer operation and chemotherapy treatment. Knowing that any delay in continuing the treatment will put her life at risk, that’s why we are referring to Crowdfunding as our last hope for saving her life. CT Scan Pre-Operation 145$ Endoscopy at LAU Medical Center Rizk 3838$ 7253 $ were paid on credit, as a debt, and the patient still have 4 cycles to go with a CT Scan at the end of the 6 cycles. The 4 remaining cycles with the CT Scan cost in total 6685 $ (4x1635$ + 145$) Our goal is to reach 40,000$ to pay the previous costs on credit and to be able to pay for the upcoming cycles and CT Scan along with the operation and the upcoming chemotherapy sessions. The Operation and Biopsy were done at LAU Medical Center Rizk supervised by Dr. Riad Azar +96171005525 The CT Scan and PET Scan were done at Hôpital Notre Dame des Secours CHU-NDS The Chemotherapy took place at Lebanese Hospital Geitaoui supervised by Dr. Maroun Sadek +96171913229 before being moved to Hospital Maritime Jbeil since the ministry of Health are not gonna handle any fees or provide any medication.
