Hello im Marianne Baaklini im facing a daunting challenge and doing a Bone Marrow Transplant for the second time. Marianne has been diagnosed with cancer once again, and the road ahead is steep and uncertain. Despite the previous battle ,i had remained a beacon of hope and strength for everyone around them. However, fighting cancer twice is an overwhelming burden—both emotionally and financially. The cost of treatment, medications, and associated expenses are astronomical which over 100 000$ .While im fighting with all my might, the financial strain is becoming unbearable. Help baby Salma get a new liver from her Mama
Baby Salma was born prematurely on August 10th, 2023. She weighed 1.89 KG and had to spend 11 days in the NICU. It quickly turned out her liver functions were not normal. Unfortunately, she's had a cholestatic liver since she was born. During the past 10 months, we have visited 4 pediatricians, 5 hepatologists/gastro, 1 cardiologist, 1 ophthalmologist trying to diagnose and treat her condition. Many blood tests, echos and a biopsy later, no diagnosis has been made, but all professionals agree she needs a liver transplant to avoid a liver failure. luckily, I (her mom) can donate a liver! The surgery is a huge (for both of us); we're grateful we have the chance to give her a new liver to begin with. The surgery will be done in Abu Ali Sina Hospital for Liver and Kidney transplant, one of the largest transplant centers in the world. There will be two surgeries, for me, and for her. Our stay will be a long one (2+ months) as we both have to be monitored and observed during the recovery period. We're aiming for 60,000 USD which should hopefully cover all hospital bills and stay. Salma is a happy and social baby, and we love her so much. Help us give her the chance to grow healthy and strong!

We're reaching out to you today with heavy hearts, on behalf of our beloved Uncle Ridwan Abdul Karim Nadi and his family seeking your support. Ridwan is a 66-year-old father of five and grandpa to two granddaughters. He has been suffering from Heart Arrhythmia for over 17 years. He's had a Pacemaker inserted over 3 times. Unfortunately, he now has a Dilated Cardiomyopathy and is in need of a Heart Transplant. Due to no heart available at this time, he must undergo a procedure where an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) needs to be inserted into his body. The cost of this is $150,000 US Dollars. Ridwan has been hospitalized for a little over a month in the ICU and is experiencing severe shortness of breath and edema, which is trapping fluid in his body, causing swelling and pain. He is experiencing many complications because of his heart not pumping efficiently. Without the machines and care provided at the hospital, he will not make it. Including his current hospital fees, this procedure will cost $180,000. This is the only option we have. We're asking for your help to give Ridwan a chance to live a healthy & happy life. Ridwan is a very kind and thoughtful person who is loved by everyone around him. He has always been there for friends and family, even when he wasn't in his healthiest state. He always puts others before himself. We'd like to pay it forward with the help of your donations to provide him with a functional heart. Karma is a Lebanese NGO advocating for equal access to the basic human right of healthcare for children. Karma’s mission is to support the treatment of vulnerable pediatric patients with cancer and thalassemia in Lebanon. To date, Karma has supported the treatment of more than 120 children with cancer and 130 children with thalassemia. Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder that causes chronic anemia. Patients require life-long blood transfusions among other medical services necessary to keep them in good health and prevent complications of the disease. Left untreated, the life expectancy of a thalassemia patient drops significantly. Since June 2023, Karma delivers comprehensive multidisciplinary care to 90 vulnerable children with Transfusion Dependent Thalassemia in Lebanon. Karma’s aim is to increase their chances of survival, prevent complications of the disease, and improve the quality of their lives. Karma free of charge services include covering the cost of hospitalization for phenotyped blood transfusions at Elias Hrawi Governmental Hospital in Zahle, organization of blood donation campaigns in partnership with the Lebanese Red Cross, distribution of medications, granting transportation allowance for the families, and referrals for medical consultations. Today, Karma is asking for your support to be able to sustain this project, and continue delivering the care necessary for our little patients’ survival and growth, hoping that their best memories will be tomorrow.
