My father recently slipped and fell at home, breaking his hip and leaving him paralyzed. Around the same time, my mother was involved in a car accident while going to a nearby store, and her right leg was broken in two. Now, both of my parents are disabled and completely dependent on me. I have had to bear huge expenses for their medicines, food, adult diapers, and transportation to hospitals for treatment. Before these tragedies, I worked as a file sorter in an office. But after both of my parents became disabled at the same time, I had to stop working because there is no one else to take care of them. As a result, our income has completely stopped, and we are struggling to survive. There are even days when we go without a single meal. We have no one to help us, and I can’t return to work until my parents recover. Covering daily household expenses has become impossible. Caring for two disabled parents at the same time is extremely difficult, both emotionally and financially. It will take a long time and continuous care to bring my parents back to health.
