Help My Family Build Safe Home After Storm Damage
Hello, My name is Supun Eranga, and I am living in Sri Lanka. I live with my mother, father, my wife who is currently pregnant, and our two young children aged 5 years and 7 years. Our family depends on having a safe place to live, especially with a baby on the way. Our family home was seriously affected by Dikwa Kunatuwa, a severe storm with heavy rain. The house is located on a mountain slope, and after the disaster, the ground became unstable and unsafe. Following the storm, large cracks appeared on the walls and floors of our house. These cracks are deep and long, spreading across multiple rooms. Both vertical and horizontal cracks can be seen on the walls, and the floor has also split, showing signs of foundation movement. These are not minor surface cracks but serious structural damage. Outside the house, the ground and access path have also cracked, clearly showing land movement. This confirms a high risk of landslide during future heavy rains. Due to this danger, the house is no longer safe to repair or live in, especially for my pregnant wife and young children. Because of this risk, we were forced to leave our home and move into a rented house, where we currently pay LKR 25,000 per month. This is a heavy financial burden for us and is not a long-term solution. Our urgent goal now is to: • Buy a small and safe piece of land • Build a simple, secure home • Provide a safe and stable future for my parents, my pregnant wife, and my children without fear of landslides or disasters All funds raised through this campaign will be used only for land purchase and basic house construction. Any contribution, big or small, will help us move one step closer to safety and stability. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign so it may reach someone who can help. Thank you sincerely for your kindness, support, and compassion. 🙏
