Please a family needs shelter, food and medication
Nasa's life was Once, filled with moments of simplicity and comfort with three beautiful kids to take care of. She had a stable job at a small local bookstore, a humble yet cozy apartment, and enough savings to tackle minor inconveniences. But last winter, a sudden illness struck her down. What seemed like a simple flu turned into a prolonged battle, draining her health, her energy, and her finances. Unable to work for months, her modest savings quickly vanished under a mountain of medical bills and daily expenses. The bookstore, struggling itself, couldn't keep her position open. Her landlord, despite understanding her situation, couldn't afford to let her stay rent-free . With nowhere else to turn, she was evicted with the kids Surviving day to day became a relentless struggle. Nights were spent in shelters or on cold, unforgiving streets. Hunger knotted their stomach, and each dawn brought a grim reality: she had nothing left. No job, no home, no safety net. Isolation became her only companion. Friends drifted away, unable or unwilling to understand her plight. The desperation grew heavier, a constant weight on her chest, accompanied by the gnawing fear of what tomorrow might—or might not—bring. Now, she stand at the edge, a shell of who she once was, looking to the kindness of strangers, hoping someone might extend a lifeline. A little help could mean a chance to reclaim some semblance of stability—a meal, a safe place to sleep, perhaps a fresh start. It's a humbling plea, born out of sheer necessity, and I sincerely hope someone hears it. (They are just hungry and in need of a shelter)

From the Ashes of War to New Hope

Emergency

From the Ashes of War to New Hope
Hello! I am Wesam, 28 years old. I used to live in the heart of the Gaza Strip, where the horizon is drawn by a turbulent sea and the domes of densely packed houses. Years ago, I started my journey from scratch as a sales employee, and then my ambition became greater. Thanks to God, I started importing and selling goods, and I established my own warehouse that housed the goods I carefully collected to secure my future and the future of my family. I worked hard until I had my own company, and every day I felt that I was taking a step towards more success. Despite all the challenges I faced in Gaza, I always found a way to overcome crises. My business flourished, and I began to be known among merchants and customers by my good reputation. But the war, which had always threatened us, stormed my life on a day I did not expect. On a fateful morning, the sirens went off, and then I heard the sound of bombing. In moments, everything had changed. The warehouse I had built stone by stone was destroyed, and my company, which I had worked to develop for years, disappeared among the rubble. I stood in front of the store, the scene before me was unbelievable: the shelves of goods in which I had placed all my hopes became empty and burned, and everything I had collected from the fatigue of the years was lost in a moment. Today, I stand on the ruins of what was my livelihood and my family's livelihood, and all I need is help to be able to stand again, although it is difficult for me to find myself asking for help. But I no longer have anything, but I still have hope and will. I am now looking for support from you, from everyone who can extend a helping hand to me, whether it is material or moral support, to start over. I know that life is full of challenges, but I believe that hope can be born from the midst of destruction, and that with your help and support I will be able to rebuild my future and my family's. Every help, no matter how small, will make a big difference in my life. I ask you to stand by me in this difficult moment that I do not wish anyone to be in so that I can rebuild what the war destroyed.

Help feed displaced Palestinians and Lebanese

Emergency

Help feed displaced Palestinians and Lebanese
Why We Need Your Help: The situation in Lebanon has drastically worsened. Recent conflict has caused mass displacement, forcing thousands of families—including from refugee camps in southern Lebanon—to flee to Beirut. Shatila camp, where the NGO Ahlam Lajea ('Dreams of a Refugee' in Arabic) is based, is overwhelmed by new arrivals, and the most vulnerable families are in urgent need of assistance. We - a group of Irish friends of the founders of a Palestinian NGO in Beirut- are raising emergency funds to provide food for these families. Here’s how your donation can make a real impact: - $50 provides a food basket with essential dry goods and cooking oil to sustain a family for two weeks. - $100 supplies enough dry goods (Rice, pasta etc and cooking oil) to last a family an entire month. $300 can stock a daily public kitchen that will serve up to 1000 hot meals per day, with Ahlam Lajea’s volunteers and kitchen ready to prepare and distribute them. As the situation evolves, additional needs may arise, such as medical care or hygiene supplies. We’ll keep this page updated with how your donations are helping. Who is Ahlam Lajea? Ahlam Lajea is a grassroots NGO founded by young Palestinians in the Shatila camp in 2011. Officially registered with the Lebanese Ministry of Interior as an NGO, Ahlam Lajea has carried out projects funded by international donors, including from the UK, and has helped over 10,000 Palestinian, Syrian and Lebanese individuals. Their work normally focuses on: - Education services for children in Shatila camp (in Beirut suburbs) - Gender-based violence prevention - Sustainable waste management that creates jobs for both Palestinian camp residents & Lebanese neighbours - Supporting the Palestinian Civil Defence, the only emergency service available in the camps They also provide emergency relief, like after the 2020 Beirut Port explosion, when they delivered life-saving aid to those in desperate need. They also provide food support to those in need (Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese in the locality of Shatila camp) in the form of weekly or month distributions, and food kitchens that provide hot meals. Background Information According to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), between 250,000 and 400,000 Palestinian refugees are currently living in Lebanon. The first refugees arrived in 1948, with more waves following over the decades. This includes approximately 30,000 Palestinians who fled Syria more recently, during the ongoing civil war. Today, around half of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon live in overcrowded, deteriorating conditions in 12 refugee camps originally set up in the late 1940s for short-term use. After more than 70 years, these families remain refugees, as Lebanon has not granted them citizenship or equal rights. This includes comprehensive labour rights, severely limiting their ability to build better futures. According to a 2022 UNRWA survey, 93% of Palestinians in Lebanon live in poverty. How You Can Make a Difference Your generosity can provide immediate food relief relief and help sustain families through this crisis. Every dollar counts in supporting those who need it most! Thank you for your kindness and support!

Darkest days in Lebanon’s history: Help us support

Solidarity with Lebanon

Darkest days in Lebanon’s history: Help us support
Darkest days in Lebanon’s history: Help us support displaced families Lebanon is reeling from one of the deadliest days in the country’s history. At least 500 people were killed by Israeli strikes across the country in less than 24 hours - approximately half the death toll from the 2006 Lebanon-Israel war that lasted 34 days. Entire families have been wiped out at once, entire towns were carpet bombed, residential buildings have been levelled to the ground, medics and ambulances have been targeted, and thousands of Lebanese were expelled from their homes. With the absence of a clear contingency plan by Lebanese authorities, it is crucial for Lebanese people to, once again, stand together in the face of adversity. We need unity and solidarity now more than ever as we all bleed the same. A small contribution can go a long way to help support displaced families in Lebanon today. Please consider donating, and visit @klna.lb for insight on some of our previous aid campaigns in Lebanon KLNA is a volunteer-based initiative founded by young Lebanese to help vulnerable families across the country. In response to this escalating “deliberate” crisis, exacerbated by political mismanagement, a dedicated collective of Lebanese youth, driven by a firm belief in social responsibility, established KLNA in May 2020. This non-profit organization, rallying the support of over 80 volunteers, has made significant strides in alleviating the hardships faced by communities across Lebanon. Through its comprehensive food relief programs, medical campaigns, and financial aid, KLNA has extended a lifeline to over 8,000 families in dire need.
