Medical School Tuition

My name is Vanessa Akiki, and I am writing to you with a heart full of hope and determination. I have recently been accepted into the medical school of the University of Balamand, a dream that I have pursued tirelessly and with unwavering passion. However, I find myself facing an unexpected and challenging obstacle that threatens to shatter my dreams.
Originally, I believed the tuition for medical school would be $9,000, which, though a significant amount, seemed attainable with careful financial planning. But, just as I was rejoicing over my acceptance, the school suddenly raised the tuition to $18,000 without including dorm fees. This staggering increase has left me in a difficult and desperate situation.

The amount I put is the total for the upcoming 4 years of medical school but sadly I know they will increase their tuition year after year and the $18,000 might seem cheap compared to what’s waiting.
As a student from Lebanon, my country is facing unprecedented challenges and economic hardships, making it nearly impossible for me to bear this financial burden alone. The deteriorating situation in Lebanon has put immense strain on my family's finances, and I fear that I may have to let go of my lifelong aspiration of becoming a doctor due to financial constraints.
Nonetheless, I refuse to give up. I have come too far to let money stand in the way of my dreams. I strongly believe that education is the key to creating a better future for myself and my community. Becoming a doctor will not only fulfill my personal goals but also allow me to contribute to society, providing medical care to those in need, and making a meaningful difference in people's lives.
